The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is standard across the European Union. Its aim is to make programs and performances of students of higher education more transparent and comparable European-wide and to replace or complement the different local (national) standards within Europe. ECTS has been developed within the Erasmus project.

ERASMUS stands for "EuRopean Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students" and is part of SOKRATES, which supports the collaboration of European universities.

For successful attendance of the courses of the University Course "German as a Foreign and Second Language" the following ECTS credits are awarded:
