Brillanter Unterricht und ein großartiges Freizeitprogramm – der Erfahrungsbericht eines Kursteilnehmers

Im letzten Jahr durften wir drei junge Schüler in unseren Sommerintensivkursen begrüßen, die eine Teilnahme an unseren Kursen gewonnen haben. Sie waren die Sieger eines Schreibwettbewerbs und ergatterten somit jeweils einen zweiwöchigen Deutschkurs bei “Deutsch in Österreich”.

James Lehmann hat über seine Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen bei “Deutsch in Österreich” einen Artikel verfasst, den wir gerne mit euch teilen möchten:

James schreibt:
„Having never done a German course before, we did not quite know what to expect. However, between 24th July and 6th August 2016 Owen Evans-Evans, Keelan Aurora and I enjoyed a fantastic two-week German Language Course at Klagenfurt University, run by ‘German in Austria’ and awarded to us by Andrea Pirker, manager of German in Austria, and by our own Mrs Udell who made this happen.

Our lessons ran from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:30, with workshops on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 13:30 to 15:00. Our stimulating lessons covered grammar, vocabulary and speaking. I felt my spoken German in particular improved greatly over two weeks, especially when I gave my 7-minute presentation on ‘why we need better politicians’! We found listening to others’ presentations very interesting, too; the topics were diverse, ranging from Mexican wine to field hockey! Our workshop was also brilliant, with our inspirational lecturer Arthur, who has visited 165 countries, discussing every aspect of travel, including some great holiday tips.

When we were not in lessons or at our travel workshops, we enjoyed the excellent free-time programme organised by the friendly ‘Freizeit Team’. Activities included a fun evening at the Villach Street Art Festival, an afternoon stand-up paddle boarding on the beautiful Wörthersee, a fantastic afternoon at the Beach Volleyball World Championships, and a tasty International Dinner on the final Friday; we successfully cooked sausages and mashed potato! Of course, I must not forget to mention Mrs Udell’s Strictly Dance workshop on the 3rd of August where students of all nationalities were introduced to the art of dancing. What a great and unique experience and skill for life. Thank you.

The lessons were brilliant, the free-time activities were great, we met some fantastic people from all over the world with whom we will be staying in touch on Facebook, and the accommodation was very comfortable. The course was an amazing experience in every aspect, and we would definitely recommend it to those who want to improve their German, and have lots of fun doing so.

Thank you again, Mrs Udell and Andrea Priker, for organising the competition and offering us scholarships, alongside ‘German in Austria’. It was a truly fantastic and inspirational course which benefited our A-Level study immensely.
